The Stoughton Economic Development Office will hold an information session at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 in the Great Hall (third floor) of Town Hall.

The town’s consultant for Stoughton’s Community Choice Power Supply Program, Colonial Power Group, will explain the program and answer questions.

All National Grid basic service customers recently received a mailing from NextEra Energy Services. To prove the legitimacy of the mailing, the Town Seal was included. Any communications from suppliers other than NextEra are not associated with the town’s program.

The Town of Stoughton has selected NextEra Energy Services as the supplier for the Community Choice Power Supply Program for six months beginning with the January 2018 meter read. The purpose of the program is to save residents and businesses money on electricity.

Basic service customers do not need to take any action to participate. They will automatically be enrolled. The mailing describes the opt-out process if residents do not wish to participate.

For those who cannot attend the meeting or did not receive a mailing and believe they should have, contact Colonial Power Group at 508-485-5858, ext. 1. Information about the program including Frequently Asked Questions can be found on the Economic Development Page of the Town of Stoughton website. Questions for the town may be directed to Pamela McCarthy, economic development director, at 781-341-1300, ext. 9265 or pmccarthy@stoughton-ma.gov.
